What is LEAD?
The Louisiana Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD) is the statewide professional association for economic developers and allied professionals. LEAD supports its members through education, peer networking, advocacy, and strategic collaboration.

Who can join LEAD?
LEAD is open to economic development professionals, business leaders, chambers of commerce, government agencies, utility partners, and others with a vested interest in advancing Louisiana’s economy.

How do I become a member?
You can join LEAD by completing the online membership application and submitting payment. Visit our Membership Page for details.

Is membership with LEAD tied to an individual or an organization?
Membership is held by the individual and is not transferable.

What are the membership levels and dues?

Regular Membership: $250 annually
Associate Membership: $350 annually
Non-Resident Membership: $250 annually
Student Membership: $25 annually

When does my membership renew?
All memberships renew on January 1 each year.

Does LEAD offer professional development courses?
Yes. LEAD hosts training courses that align with Louisiana’s unique economic development needs.

Are LEAD courses eligible for CEcD credits?
Some courses may count toward CEcD certification or recertification. Check individual course descriptions or contact us for clarification.

What is LEAD’s Annual Conference?
LEAD’s signature event is held each fall and features keynote speakers, panels, networking, and industry insights. The 2025 Annual Conference will be held October 14–15 in Baton Rouge.

Do I have to be a member to attend LEAD events?
No, but members receive discounted rates and priority access to select events.

Can I volunteer for a LEAD committee?
Absolutely. LEAD offers multiple opportunities for member involvement. Email us to express interest.
